Hi! I’m Fielding Jezreel, MSW, GPC — a federal grants strategist, teacher, and coach with a background spanning federal grant writing, program and evaluation design, organizational readiness, and team development. I've spent my career on every side of the grants table: writing winning proposals, managing multimillion-dollar portfolios, and serving on review panels that decide which applications make the cut. I help nonprofit teams make sense of federal funding and ensure it works for their communities.
Professionally, I'm the founder of Jezreel Consulting, which I launched in 2016 to help nonprofit teams plan, write, and secure federal grants. I love this work because it's collaborative. I work shoulder-to-shoulder with Executive Directors, Directors of Development, and, if I’m lucky, other grant professionals to evaluate federal readiness, design competitive programs, and build proposals that hold up under reviewer scrutiny. Since 2016, my clients have been awarded more than $140 million across 12 federal agencies.
I’m also the founder and resident expert of the Federal Grants Accelerator™, a learning community I launched in 2025 for small to mid-sized nonprofits and the grant professionals who serve them. Members get everything they need to navigate the federal grant process with confidence: a self-paced online course with resources and templates, group coaching, and AI tools to expedite federal grant-seeking.
I’m published in the peer-reviewed GPA Journal and am regularly featured as a contributor on podcasts and with partners, such as Instrumentl, the Grant Writing and Funding podcast, and the A Modern Nonprofit podcast.
Within the field, I've served as Board President of the St. Louis Grant Professional Association, taught as adjunct faculty at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, and reviewed grants for the St. Louis Children's Service Fund and the St. Louis Mental Health Board. I've held my Grants Professional Certification (GPC) since 2018.
I hold an MSW with a concentration in Mental Health from Washington University in St. Louis and dual BA degrees in Sociology and Religious Studies from Grinnell College.
